Secret Engagement Ring

There are three things I love doing when it comes to making a ring. One, a client contacts me while I am away on one of my gem hunts in the Pink City, Jaipur. Two, when a client wants me to create the ring of his girlfriend's dreams, which she has absolutely no idea about. Three, when my client wants me to create them a truly unique and alternative engagement ring. I like to call this a triple win of my favourite loves and passions when it comes to making jewellery.

This beauty is handmade made from 18 carat rose gold, set with a stunning rutile quartz and six glistening champagne diamonds. I sourced the diamonds and the rutile quartz on one of my treasure hunts in Jaipur, India.

Originally this stunning black rutile quartz was an irregular cabochon cut. But my client specifically wanted an oval, facet cut for this particular design. So I went to my number one lapidary man in Jaipur, and had him hand cut this special gem to my client's specifications.

As you can see the quality of this black rutile quartz is the best. Absolutely crystal clear quarts with stunning black shards shooting through the heart of the gemstone, making this the most unique engagement ring that I have made to date.

And a truly beautiful and alternative engagement ring, ready to pop the magic question. Which of course she said Yes.

I very fortunately had the honour of making her matching wedding band. Again, one of my favourite wedding band designs to date. We created this stunning, thick contemporary wedding band, made from rose gold to snugly fit her black rutile quartz and champagne diamond engagement ring. A combination of colours and design to die for.

I love a man who thinks outside the box, meandering off the beaten track of engagement rings. Hats off to him! What a real pleasure for me it was to make this piece. Here's to all their happiness to share in this beautiful world. Congratulations!

“I contacted Rosie Odette Jewellery when I was searching for an engagement ring for my now fiancée. I wanted something different and this meant a bespoke piece. Rosie talked me through the next steps and sourced a jewel very quickly, a black tourmaline rutile quartz. Rosie fitted it into a ring and added the champagne diamonds to transform it into a spectacular ring. It was exactly what I had in mind. End to end it was a completely personal and bespoke service, I received photos of the stone when it was sourced and even a photo of the stone being cut, I really felt included in the process. Rosie created me a very special piece of jewellery for a very special occasion. Needless to say my fiancée loves the ring!!"
