And so it starts. After three weeks gem hunting, getting straight to the source on my whoppa magpie hunt, it's finally time to sit and play with what I have purchased. Here I am playing around with kyanite, a beautiful packet of kyanite. Something blue for the brides!

Kyanite is a lovely electric blue semi-precious gemstone which can be easily mistaken for blue sapphire. The benefit of kyanite is that you can get really great blue colour, fire and clarity for a third of the price of the same quality sapphire.
